​What is Watoto Pamoja?
"Watoto Pamoja" is an organization set up in Dubai, in liaison with Bethsaida Secondary School for Orphan Girls, Tanzania, with an aim to facilitate the funding of University education for these girls who hail from around the region of Tanzania.
"Watoto Pamoja" can be directly translated from Kiswahil as "Children Together", a phrase that signifies: companionship, unity, and support, all of which this organisation promotes.
Furthermore, it uniquely binds all the young minds that contribute their time to the success of this group, from two 17 year olds who founded the organisation, to the various students of Dubai International Academy who volunteer to help, to the intelligent girls at Bethsaida who deserve a brighter future.
We communicate with the girls through pen pal letters, and together we share a special bond through this correspondence, each member having their own pen pal. This gives them someone to confide in, and also opens both sides up to different ways of living, societies and cultures, an experience that is extremely enlightening to both parties.
This inspires us towards a bigger dream: to help our friends not only emotionally but financially as well.
